This medium-sized breed is loving, intelligent, and alert. Known for its characteristically long but low body figure, this breed is surprisingly bold and protective. Why? They are considered a cattle herding dog, bred to corral animals ten times bigger than them! Though Pembroke Welsh Corgis are friendly and mellow, this doesn’t stop them from being playful. These dogs grow to weigh between 22 and 30 lbs and can reach 12 to 15 years of age.

A Pembroke Welsh Corgi typically ranges from $1,000 to $2,500, though this might be higher if you're purchasing from breeders in specific locations, or if the puppy is of a championship pedigree.
Welsh Corgis make excellent family dogs due to their compact size, amiable temperament, and adaptability to apartment living; however, they do require regular exercise to keep them fit and happy.
While Welsh Corgis are fairly easy to train and care for, they do shed a lot which means they require regular grooming such as brushing to reduce the amount of hair around your house.
Pembroke Welsh Corgis typically have a lifespan of around 12 to 13 years. But this varies of course depending on the dog's overall health and living conditions.
One of the downsides of owning a Corgi could be their high energy level which requires regular exercise and mental stimulation. They also have that stubborn streak that can make training challenging at times.
Yes, Corgis tend to bark quite a bit. They were originally bred for herding livestock and use their loud bark to control animals. In a home setting, they may bark to signal strangers or express dissatisfaction.
When looking for a Corgi breeder, ensure they have a good reputation, are committed to breeding healthy and temperamentally sound dogs, and are willing to provide you with the necessary health clearances for the puppy's parents.
