The Xoloitzcuintli is an ancient Mexican breed that is mostly hairless with brown-black skin. Also called the “Xolo,” these dogs are sturdy and muscular, weighing 30-55 pounds. Though a bit reserved around strange humans, Xolos are very affectionate with their own family members and other dogs. Thanks to thousands of years of natural selection, Xoloitzcuintlis are a robust and healthy breed with tons of energy. Xolos love to run and play and will need plenty of exercise alongside someone they love.
