Mastiffs are some of the most physically intimidating dogs on the planet, standing 24 to 31 inches at the shoulder and weighing in at 120 to 200 pounds. Their history goes back to the Roman Empire, where they performed as war dogs and marched alongside soldiers or fought in the gladiatorial ring. With family and friends, the immense Neapolitan Mastiff is calm and sweet-tempered. Purely because of their size, Mastiffs are best for experienced dog owners and adult households
