A classic gundog, the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon has wiry, rough fur to match its name. Boasting a large moustache and eyebrows in addition to its rather unkempt coat, this breed is smart, sociable and eager to play. Weighing between 35 and 70 pounds, these dogs are friendly with people and other dogs, but if you want yours to respect smaller pets like cats, you should plan to introduce them very early on.
