The Thai Ridgeback is a unique and ancient breed known for its striking appearance and loyal temperament. Originating from Thailand, these dogs are characterized by their distinctive ridge of hair along their back, strong athletic build, and intelligent nature. They are highly trainable, making them excellent companions for active families or individuals. With a protective instinct and a playful demeanor, Thai Ridgebacks thrive in loving homes where they can engage in regular exercise and mental stimulation.

Love to dine out with your dog? Missouri is the place to be! Thanks to the friendly restaurateurs of the Show-Me State, you and your doggy are welcome to enjoy the outdoor seating sections of multiple cafés, wineries, delis, burger joints and doughnut shops. Pups can run, play and swim at the Garth Nature Area in Columbia, or socialize and get some fresh air at off-leash dog parks across the state. Outdoorsy dogs and their families can also set up camp at St. Louis West Historic Route 66 KOA, The Family Campground on Buren River, Mark Twain Cave Campground and many other idyllic natural landscapes throughout Missouri.

Missouri’s Jim the Wonder Dog was famous in the 1920s for his apparent psychic powers and keen intellect.
Old Drum is Missouri’s official Historical Dog, having been the subject of a moving speech, “Eulogy of the Dog,” in 1870.
