Often lovingly called the Shepadoodle, the German Shepherd Poodle Mix is a family-friendly dog with all kinds of interests. These dogs love hiking, camping, get-togethers, sleepovers, movie nights in the living room and just about any other activity you can think of. Clever and easy to train, Shepadoodles weigh between 60 and 90 pounds as adults and need regular exercise outdoors to stay fit and happy. Ideal for larger homes, apartments with outdoor access, singles or families, this breed is a good choice for first-time dog owners.

Alaska is home to some of the great natural wonders of the world, and thanks to its dog-friendly culture, you can experience many of them together with your dog! Hike the trails at the Far North Bicentennial Park in Anchorage, or the Tongass National Forest in Juneau. Your dog will also love spending an afternoon at Connor’s Bog Dog Park in Anchorage, or at the Lake Lucille Dog Park in Wasilla. If you haven’t brought your own dog with you on an Alaskan holiday, look into special hiking (or sledding) excursions with cold-weather Huskies!
