The Pudelpointer is a German gun dog that is a descendant of the German Poodle and English Pointer. This dog breed is active and intelligent, performing excellently in field performance tests. Pudelpointers are calm and friendly and like to please their owners; this makes them excellent companions for active families. Pudelpointers are a healthy dog breed and come in color ranging from brown to black.

The stunning and culturally rich state of West Virginia truly has something for everyone who lives here or visits. Even pets can partake in many of this state’s events and attractions! Dogs are welcome in all kinds of places, from trails at Whitegrass in Davis to the Perfect Spot for surfing at Gauley River. Active dogs will love the trails at New River Gorge and playtime in the water at Greenbrier River. Social canines are very welcome to join their owners for a bite to eat at many of West Virginia’s outdoor dining establishments, and don’t forget to take in some local culture at the Mothman Museum!
Though West Virginia does not have an official state dog, the shelter dog has been nominated for the position.
