The Pomeagle is a mixed breed dog with Pomeranian and Beagle heritage. Like other mixed breeds, it’s tough to predict the size of a Pomeagle—the adults range between 5 and 25 pounds. Curious and sociable, these dogs make great apartment companions but should always be on-leash or fenced since their excellent scenting skills can lead them on unplanned adventures. Pomeagles enjoy constant attention and playtime with families, and don’t like to be left alone for too long.

Utah has been a home for dog lovers longer than you might think! At Danger Cave, on the western state border, archaeologists have found dog bones buried next to human remains that are more than 9,000 years old. Still today, dogs and their human families love to spend time together out in nature. Visit the old stomping grounds of your canine’s ancestors in Utah’s state parks and camping areas or rent a cottage on the lake for a nice mix between nature and creature comforts. Thousands of restaurants in this state have dog-friendly patios, while hundreds of specialists are available for all your pet’s grooming and spa needs.
The Golden Retriever was nominated as Utah’s official state dog breed in 2015, but the bid was unsuccessful following a vote.
