The Peek-a-Pom is a cross between the Pomeranian and the Pekingese that results in a 3-12-pound ball of fluff. Like its genetic forebears, the Peek-a-Pom is a bundle of energy that can become overexcited easily and needs good training during puppyhood to avoid becoming yappy. On the other hand, this is a breed that takes pride in watching over its family members and keeping them safe! Great for seniors, kids, singles and couples, the Peek-a-Pom is always ready for snuggles.

Idaho is well-known as a dog-friendly place to live in—or travel to—thanks to its millions of dog lovers and plentiful dog-centric businesses. Urban Idaho is packed with beautiful dog parks where your furry family members can run and play off-leash, including the Nampa Dog Park and the Military Reserve Flood Basin Dog Park. An Idaho dog owner can also run errands, take a shopping trip or go out for dinner with their pup at their side the whole time. Looking for a way for the two of you to get exercise and fresh air together? Try the state’s Greenbelt trail, which runs for 25 miles along the Boise River.
Fifty-eight percent of Idaho households have at least one dog.
The state’s own Idaho Shag dog originated on the eastern side of the state, and is believed to be a mix of herding breeds.
Boise, capital of Idaho, is considered one of the country’s best cities for dogs.
