The Otterhound is a large-sized dog breed that was developed in England to hunt—surprise, surprise, otters! These dogs weigh between 65-120 pounds as adults, and have a shaggy, warm double coat that is typically a mix of black, grey and white. The Otterhound is a rare breed known for its stamina and excellent sense of smell. As natural hunters, Otterhounds need daily exercise and regular outdoor play. A bit shy around strangers, these dogs are affectionate with family and friends.
