This massive breed is very sweet-tempered, kind, and gentle. They love to be around children and have gained a reputation as “nanny dogs” for kids. They were originally used to pull nets out for fishermen and haul firewood from the forests, so they are best living in the countryside where they can do some work. They live to be 8 to 10 years old and grow to be 120 to 150 lbs!
