What do you get when you cross a German Shepherd with a Labrador Retriever? A great big, clever, playful, family-loving goofball! The German Sheprador can grow as big as 44 kilograms in weight and up to 69 centimetres in height. Their multicoloured coats are easy to care for just by brushing them a couple of times a week, and there are few serious health concerns to worry about with this breed. German Dhepradors might be aloof with visitors but they are exceedingly happy to spend time with their own family members, especially when playing toys they can pick up with their mouths.

Pet lovers of Wisconsin have gone all-out to ensure that doggy visitors to the state get the best treatment possible. At budget accommodations and upscale boutique hotels like downtown Milwaukee’s Iron Horse Hotel, dogs are actually the focus of many vacation packages. Residents and visitors in America’s Dairyland are welcome with their furry family members to annual dog-themed events like Door County’s Scottie Rally, Ripon’s Septemberfest and Cambridge’s Barktoberfest. Lovers of water sports should make a stop at the Lake Kegonsa State Park near Madison, which has a little pier dedicated to training doggies to jump in!
The official state dog of Wisconsin is the American Water Spaniel.
