The Dogue de Bordeaux is a mastiff-type dog that stands between 23 and 26 inches tall and weighs between 99 and 110 pounds. Their ancient line legendarily began with the war dogs of colonial Rome, which were brought to France beside legions of soldiers. They've worked as hunters, guardians and even livestock drovers.
