Also known as the Bernese Mountain Poo, The Bernedoodle is a cross between the Bernese Mountain Dog and the Poodle. Their fluffy black and white fur covers their adorable, friendly faces and forms curly tufts over their big paws. Bred entirely for companionship and to develop that warm, loving loyalty to family, Bernedoodles are great with children. These dogs stand about 23-29 inches high at the shoulder and weigh between 70 and 90 pounds. The Bernedoodle is a docile and excited companion on family trips and is easy to train.

An estimated 28 percent of Quebecois households include at least one dog, while about 10 percent include one cat and one dog. That puts Quebec’s total dog population at just over one million—and most of them are rescued. Top dog hiking trails in the province include Monts Sourire et Petit Carcan and Mont Larose, and there are more in the Parc Nacional du Bic. If you’re a dogless dog-lover at the moment and need some canine interaction in your life, check out one of the many dog sledding excursions throughout the Laurentian Mountains!
The preferred dog breed of the Quebecois is the German Shepherd.
