It won’t surprise you to learn that the American English Coonhound is a breed highly dedicated to the capture of its main prey: the raccoon. Weighing between 45 and 65 pounds and sporting those classic long hound-dog ears, the Coonhound is affectionate and good with kids. Often single-minded when it catches a scent, the American English Coonhound may be best suited to life with an active owner and other dogs.
