This small dog is a companion breed that resembles its larger ancestor, the Husky! The name “Klee Kai” is an Inuit term for “small dog.” Like its big, working doppelgangers, the Alaskan Klee Kai needs plenty of exercise. Weighing in at just 10-15 pounds, these dogs are shy around strangers and need intensive socialization when young to overcome their tendency for social anxiety. The Klee Kai’s instinctive prey drive doesn’t make it a good option for a multi-pet household, especially one with smaller animals.
