The Shikoku is a medium-sized Japanese breed known for its loyalty, intelligence, and hunting prowess. Originating from Shikoku Island, these dogs were bred for hunting wild boar and are characterized by their spitz-like features, including erect ears and a curled tail. Shikokus are energetic and alert, making them excellent companions for active owners. They require consistent training and socialization due to their independent nature, but they form strong bonds with their families.
